Use the camera

Notes
  • To open your camera quickly, swipe down from the lock screen. To enable this option, open Charms, touch Settings, Change PC settings, then PC and devices. Under Camera, touch the bar to turn on this option.
  • See View photos and video for information on how to view your pictures and video.

Take a picture

  1. Open the Camera app.
  2. Touch Camera button to take a picture. A thumbnail of your picture appears in the lower-left corner of your screen.

  3. (Optional) Touch the thumbnail to select the image you want to save. Rotate the wheel to find the best image, then touch Save.

    Note
    If you take another picture, you cannot select the frame that you want.
  4. When you are finished, swipe to the right to view your recent photos. See View photos and video for information on how to view all your pictures and videos.

Record a video

  1. Open the Camera app.
  2. Touch Video button to record a video, then touch Stop when you are finished.

  3. When you are finished, swipe to the right to quickly view your video. See View photos and video for information on how to view all your pictures and videos.

Take a panoramic picture

  1. Open the Camera app.
  2. Touch Panoramic button to enter panoramic mode.

  3. Touch the screen to start filming, slowly move your camera until your picture is captured.

  4. Touch Undo to remove an image if it does not align with the others.
  5. Touch Done when you are finished.
  6. Swipe to the right to quickly view your photo. Touch Move , then Gyroscope to view your photo in gyroscope mode.
